The MIC2544A-1YM is an integrated high-side power switch optimized for low-loss DC power switching and power management applications, including ACPI. It offers a cost-effective, highly integrated solution requiring minimal external components for USB and ACPI requirements.
Key features include a precision resistor-programmable output current-limit up to 1.5A and a soft-start circuit to minimize inrush current. Thermal shutdown and current-limit features protect the switch and attached devices. The device has an open-drain flag output to indicate current-limiting or thermal shutdown conditions to a local controller.
This switch operates from a 2.7V to 5.5V input and has a maximum on-resistance of 120mΩ. It is available in an 8-pin SOIC package and operates within a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. The enable signal is compatible with both 3V and 5V logic.
Applications include USB power distribution, PCI bus power switching, notebook PCs, ACPI power distribution, PC card hot swap, and inrush current limiting.
