The Micrel MIC22602YML is a high-efficiency, 6A integrated synchronous buck (step-down) regulator designed for high power density applications. It achieves over 90% efficiency while switching at 1MHz.
This regulator features integrated 6A MOSFETs and flexible sequencing and tracking capabilities. The output voltage can be adjusted down to 0.7V, making it suitable for various low-voltage power needs. The ultra-high-speed control loop ensures output voltage regulation even under extreme transient load swings, common in FPGAs and low-voltage ASICs.
The MIC22602YML supports flexible sequencing and tracking options via its EN/DLY and POR/PG pins. The RC (Ramp Control) pin allows for output voltage margin control when connected to another MIC22602.
Evaluation requirements include a single bench power source with an input voltage range of 2.6V to 5.5V capable of providing at least 6A. Loads can be active or passive, with the ability to dissipate maximum load power while keeping accessible surfaces below 70°C. Note that there is no reverse input protection on the evaluation board.
