The Micrel MIC2225 is a dual output regulator designed for portable power applications. It integrates a high-efficiency 2MHz PWM synchronous buck (step-down) regulator capable of up to 600mA output current, and a 300mA LDO.
This device provides an ultra-low noise, small size solution for core and I/O supply rails in applications such as application processors, camera DSPs, and multimedia chipsets. The switching regulator operates from a 2.7V to 5.5V input and features internal power MOSFETs. The LDO also operates within the 2.7V to 5.5V input range.
The MIC2225 is available in a 10-pin 2mm x 2mm Thin MLF® package, suitable for surface mounting. It has a junction operating range from –40°C to +125°C, offering thermal shutdown and current limit protection for both the buck and LDO sections.
Key features include >95% efficiency in PWM mode, 100% maximum duty cycle, and stability with a 2.2µF ceramic output capacitor. The device also offers micropower shutdown.
