The MIC2199YML is a high-power, 300kHz synchronous buck DC-to-DC controller designed by Microchip Technology. It is housed in a compact 4mm x 4mm MLF™ 12-pin package, making it suitable for space-constrained applications.
This controller operates from a wide input voltage range of 4.5V to 32V and can be programmed for output voltages as low as 0.8V. Its 300kHz switching frequency allows for the use of smaller external inductors and capacitors. The current mode PWM control and external COMP pin facilitate easy stability compensation and fast transient response.
With an all N-Channel synchronous architecture and powerful output drivers, the MIC2199YML offers up to 20A of output current capability. It is ideal for point-of-load DC-to-DC conversion in 5V, 12V, 24V, and 28V systems, as well as in telecom equipment, wireless modems, servers, and base stations. The device features logic-controlled micropower shutdown, cycle-by-cycle current limiting, adjustable undervoltage lockout, and frequency foldback overcurrent protection. It is available in a 12-pin 4mm x 4mm MLF™ package with an operating junction temperature range of -40°C to 125°C.
