The MIC2077-2YWM-TR is a quad high-side MOSFET switch optimized for general-purpose power distribution applications requiring circuit protection. It features internal current limiting and thermal shutdown to protect the device and load. The device operates within a 2.7V to 5.5V range and can handle a minimum continuous current of 500mA per channel.
Key features include a maximum on-resistance of 150mΩ per channel, undervoltage lockout, and reverse current flow blocking. The MIC2077 series offers a fault status flag that asserts during overcurrent and thermal shutdown conditions, with a 3ms filter to prevent false assertions. Soft-start circuitry is included to minimize inrush current for capacitive loads.
This power distribution switch is available in a 16-SOIC surface mount package. Its design is suitable for applications such as USB peripherals, ACPI power distribution, notebook PCs, PDAs, and PC card hot swap.
The MIC2077 offers a "smart" thermal shutdown mode that reduces current consumption during fault conditions. When a thermal shutdown occurs, the output latches off until the faulty load is removed. Resetting the device output can be achieved by removing the load or toggling the enable input.
