The MIC2043-2YTS-TR is a versatile single-channel, high-side MOSFET power distribution switch designed for general-purpose power distribution applications requiring circuit protection. It operates across a wide voltage range, from 0.8V to 5.5V, and can handle up to 3A of continuous output current.
Key protection features include programmable current limiting, thermal shutdown, and undervoltage lockout, safeguarding both the device and the connected load. The device also provides a fault status flag to indicate overcurrent and thermal shutdown conditions. Soft-start circuitry is integrated to minimize inrush current, particularly beneficial for applications with highly capacitive loads. The output slew rate can be adjusted externally for tighter control during startup.
The MIC2043 variant features an auto-reset circuit breaker mode that latches the output off upon detecting an overcurrent condition lasting more than 28ms, resetting when the load is removed or reduced. This switch is suitable for applications such as docking stations, notebook PCs, PDAs, hot swap board insertions, RAID controllers, USB hosts, and ACPI power distribution.
