The Vicor MI-RAM-M1-S is a ripple attenuator module designed to work with Vicor MI-series DC-DC converters, specifically the VI-200/VI-J00 series. Its primary function is to significantly reduce output noise, achieving levels below 10mVP-P across a frequency range from DC to 20MHz. This noise reduction applies to both line-frequency-related ripple and switching noise.
When combined with an MI-series converter, the MI-RAM-M1-S provides the output noise performance comparable to a linear power supply, while maintaining a high power density exceeding 15W/in³. All essential features of the MI-series converter, such as output voltage trimming, OVP, OTP (for MI-200 only), current limiting, remote sense, and logic enable/disable, remain functional.
