The MG2040MUTAG is a low capacitance ESD protection diode from ON Semiconductor, optimized for high-speed video interfaces such as HDMI and DisplayPort. It provides full functionality ESD protection with back drive current protection for the VCC line. The device features ultra-low capacitance of 0.35 pF typical (I/O to GND) and low ESD clamping voltage, making it ideal for voltage-sensitive high-speed data lines.
The MG2040MUTAG offers 14 unidirectional channels with a reverse standoff voltage of 5V and a maximum clamping voltage of 10V. It is rated for peak pulse current of 1A (8/20 µs). The device complies with IEC 61000-4-2 Level 4 ESD protection, with ±15 kV contact and air discharge ratings. It also has a UL flammability rating of 94 V-0.
The device is housed in a surface-mount 18-UFDFN exposed pad package (18-UDFN 5.5x1.5 mm) and supports an operating temperature range of -55°C to 125°C. The flow-through style package allows for easy PCB layout and matched trace lengths for consistent impedance on high-speed TMDS lines. The MG2040MUTAG is Pb-free and RoHS3 compliant (unverified).
