The Bourns MF-RX300/72-2 is a PTC resettable fuse from the MF-RX/72 series, designed for overcurrent protection in low voltage circuits up to 72V. Key electrical specifications include a hold current of 3A, trip current of 6A, maximum voltage of 72V, and maximum fault current of 40A. The initial resistance ranges from 0.04 Ω to 0.08 Ω (1 hour after soldering), with a maximum post-trip resistance of 0.1 Ω. At 15A, the time to trip is a maximum of 19.8 seconds, with typical tripped power dissipation of 2.8W. The operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C.
The fuse is packaged in a radial disc through-hole configuration with a lead spacing of 10.2mm. Dimensions are 20.67mm length, 3.1mm width, and 26.67mm height. It is RoHS compliant, halogen free, lead free, and carries a Prop 65 warning for cancer and reproductive harm.
Typical applications include security and fire alarm systems, loudspeakers, and power transformers. The epoxy insulating material meets UL 94 V-0 flame retardancy requirements.
