The Bourns MF-PSMF020X-2 is a polymeric PTC resettable fuse from the MF-PSMF series. It provides overcurrent protection with a hold current of 200 mA and a trip current of 500 mA at 23°C. The maximum voltage rating is 9 V and it can handle up to 40 A fault current.
This device features a fast time to trip of 20 ms at 8 A, with a tripped power dissipation of 0.5 W. Initial resistance is 0.65 Ω minimum and resistance after trip is 3.5 Ω maximum. It operates over a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
The MF-PSMF020X-2 is housed in a compact 0805 (2012 metric) surface mount package with concave terminals, measuring 2.15 mm x 1.35 mm x 0.85 mm. It is RoHS compliant and halogen free, with agency approvals from cUL and TÜV. ESD classification is Class 6 per AEC-Q200-2.
Typical applications include USB port protection (USB 2.0, 3.0, OTG), HDMI source protection, PC motherboards, mobile phones, PDAs, and game console port protection.
