Each pair of H-Bridge drivers controls the speed, direction, and current magnitude for the two coils of a two-phase instrumentation step motor. The device offers analog microstepping with 12 steps per degree of pointer movement, supporting up to 4096 possible steady-state pointer positions and a maximum pointer sweep of 340 degrees. It features fixed maximum acceleration and deceleration of 4500°/s² and a maximum pointer velocity of 400°/s.
This IC is ideal for easing the transition from air core motors to step motors by emulating air core pointer movement with minimal processor overhead.
