MCZ33904D5EKR2 Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The MCZ33904D5EKR2 from NXP Semiconductors is a second-generation System Basis Chip (SBC) that integrates power management, CAN, and LIN interfaces. It is designed to enhance module designs by providing an advanced power management unit for MCUs, along with integrated circuits for sensors and CAN transceivers.

This device features a high-speed CAN interface compliant with ISO11898-2 and -5, supporting baud rates from 40 kb/s to 1.0 Mb/s. It may also include zero, one, or two LIN 2.1 interfaces. The SBC includes up to four wake-up input pins that can be configured as output drivers for added flexibility. It operates within a voltage range of 5.5V to 28V and is built using SMARTMOS technology.

Key features include multiple low-power modes with very low current consumption, voltage regulators for the MCU (5.0 or 3.3 V) and the CAN driver (5.0 V), and auxiliary SPI configurable regulators. It also incorporates protection features such as voltage, current, and temperature protection, multiple undervoltage detections, and SPI configurable regulator overcurrent detection. The device is supplied in a 32-SSOP (Exposed Pad) package suitable for surface mounting.

Applications for the MCZ33904D5EKR2 include aircraft and marine systems, automotive and robotic systems, farm equipment, industrial actuator controls, lamp and inductive load controls, DC motor control applications requiring diagnostics, and applications where high-side switch control is required.
