MCT5200 Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The QT OPTOELECTRONICS MCT5200 is a phototransistor optocoupler featuring a high-efficiency AlGaAs infrared emitting diode and an NPN phototransistor in a six-pin dual-in-line package. This optocoupler is suitable for interfacing CMOS to LSTTL/TTL logic and offers a high common mode transient rejection of 5kV/µs.

Key electrical characteristics include a continuous collector current of 150 mA and a maximum forward current of 50 mA. The device supports data rates up to 150 kbits/s (NRZ). It has an isolation voltage of 2500Vrms and a collector-emitter breakdown voltage of 30V.

The operating temperature range is -55°C to +100°C, with CTR guaranteed from 0°C to 70°C. The MCT5200 is packaged in a PDIP through-hole mount.

Applications include CMOS to CMOS/LSTTL logic isolation, RS-232 line receivers, telephone ring detectors, AC line voltage sensing, and switching power supplies.
