The Microchip Technology MCP9801T-M/MS is a digital temperature sensor designed for precise temperature monitoring. It converts temperatures between -55°C and +125°C into a digital word with an accuracy of ±1°C (maximum) from -10°C to +85°C.
This sensor operates within a voltage range of 2.7V to 5.5V and utilizes a 2-wire I²C/SMBus compatible serial interface, allowing multiple devices on a single bus. Key features include user-selectable resolution from 9-bit to 12-bit, a power-saving shutdown mode, and a one-shot temperature measurement capability. The device also provides an alert signal when temperature limits are exceeded.
Available in an 8-MSOP package, the MCP9801T-M/MS is suitable for surface mount applications. Its typical operating current is 200 µA, with a shutdown current of only 1 µA maximum, making it energy-efficient for various monitoring tasks.
