The MCP73833T-AMI/MF from Microchip Technology is a highly advanced linear charge management controller designed for space-limited and cost-sensitive applications. It is suitable for charging single-cell Lithium-Ion and Lithium-Polymer batteries.
This IC features constant current/constant voltage operation with thermal regulation. It offers a programmable charge current up to 1.1A and preset voltage regulation options including 4.20V, 4.35V, 4.40V, or 4.50V with high accuracy. The device includes integrated pass transistor, current sense, and reverse discharge protection.
Designed for portable applications, the MCP73833T-AMI/MF adheres to USB power bus specifications when charging from a USB port. It supports selectable preconditioning and charge termination features. The controller is available in a compact 10-lead DFN (3x3 mm) package, making it ideal for designs where space is a constraint.
Key features include automatic end-of-charge control, automatic recharge, two charge status outputs, and cell temperature monitoring. The operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C (TA).
