The MCP73123T-22SI/MF from Microchip Technology is a compact and cost-effective linear charge management controller designed for Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries. It offers a complete solution for battery charging, integrating features like input overvoltage protection, pass transistor, current sense, and reverse discharge protection.

This controller operates with a constant current/constant voltage algorithm and includes thermal regulation to optimize charge cycle time and device reliability. Key electrical specifications include a 4.15V undervoltage lockout (UVLO), an 18V absolute maximum input voltage, and a programmable fast charge current range from 130 mA to 1100 mA. The battery charge voltage is preset at 3.6V for single-cell LiFePO4 applications.

Additional features include resistor-programmable charge current, preconditioning of deeply depleted cells, an integrated precondition timer, automatic end-of-charge control with selectable minimum current ratios, and automatic recharge capabilities.
