MCP3424-E/SL Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The Microchip Technology MCP3424-E/SL is a high-accuracy, low-noise 18-bit delta-sigma analog-to-digital converter. It features 4 differential input channels and an on-board voltage reference of 2.048V, enabling an input range of ±2.048V differentially. The device supports programmable gain amplifier (PGA) gains of 1, 2, 4, or 8, allowing for conversion of weak input signals with high resolution.

This ADC offers programmable data rates including 3.75 SPS (18 bits), 15 SPS (16 bits), 60 SPS (14 bits), and 240 SPS (12 bits). It includes self-calibration for internal offset and gain per conversion. The MCP3424-E/SL communicates via a two-wire I2C interface, supporting standard, fast, and high-speed modes. It can operate in either One-Shot or Continuous Conversion modes.

Designed for single-supply operation from 2.7V to 5.5V, the MCP3424-E/SL is suitable for applications requiring precise analog measurements. It has an extended temperature range of -40°C to +125°C. The device is available in a 14-SOIC surface mount package.
