The Microchip Technology MCP2562FD-E/SN is a second-generation high-speed CAN transceiver optimized for CAN FD (Flexible Data rate) operation at up to 8 Mbps. It implements ISO-11898-2 and ISO-11898-5 standard physical layer requirements, offering a maximum propagation delay of 120 ns and loop delay symmetry of -10%/+10% at 2 Mbps.
This transceiver features a very low standby current of 5 µA typical and a VIO supply pin for direct interfacing with CAN controllers and microcontrollers operating from 1.8V to 5.5V. It includes protection against short-circuit conditions, high-voltage transients in automotive environments, and automatic thermal shutdown. The device is suitable for 12V and 24V systems and meets stringent automotive design requirements.
