The QTC MCA255 is an optically coupled isolator designed for signal transmission between systems of different potentials and impedances. It consists of an infrared light-emitting diode and an NPN silicon photodarlington in a space-efficient dual in-line plastic package.
Key electrical specifications include a high isolation voltage of 5300Vrms (7500Vpk) and a minimum current transfer ratio of 100% at 5mA forward current and 5V collector-emitter voltage. The device operates over a temperature range of -55°C to 100°C, with a maximum total power dissipation of 250mW.
This optocoupler is suitable for applications such as computer terminals, industrial systems controllers, and measuring instruments. It is available in a DIP-6 package suitable for through-hole mounting.
Absolute maximum ratings include a forward current of 60mA and a reverse voltage of 5V for the input diode. The output transistor has a collector-emitter breakdown voltage of 55V. All electrical parameters are 100% tested.
