The MC33SB0400ES from NXP Semiconductors is an antilock brake controller chip specifically designed for motorcycle braking systems. It integrates four high-current low-side drivers for solenoid valves and two configurable wheel speed sensor inputs capable of handling active sensors.
This chip also features high-side gate drivers for controlling external N-channel MOSFETs for pump motor and master relay functions. Additional integrated features include a warning lamp driver and a K-line transceiver. The digital I/O pins are configurable for 5.0 V and 3.3 V levels, and communication is handled via a standard 16-bit SPI protocol with watchdog.
The MC33SB0400ES is built on SMARTMOS technology and operates within a voltage range of 6V to 20V, with an operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C. It is supplied in a 48-VFQFN exposed pad package suitable for surface mounting.
This component is ideal for ABS applications in motorcycles, providing robust control and monitoring capabilities for critical braking functions.
