MC33816AER2

The MC33816AER2 from NXP Semiconductors is a SMARTMOS programmable gate driver IC specifically designed for precision solenoid control applications. This device integrates five external MOSFET high-side pre-drivers and seven external MOSFET low-side pre-drivers, offering a flexible solution for MOSFET gate drive with versatile control and optimized latency.

The IC manages gate drive, diagnosis, and protection through four independent microcores, supported by two Code RAM and two Data RAM banks. It includes internal voltage regulators with over/undervoltage monitoring and protection, four current sense modules, and VDS monitoring for fault detection via an SPI. The device supports high-side/low-side pre-drive PWM capability up to 100 kHz and features four selectable slew rates for all pre-drivers.

With a battery voltage range of 5.0 V to 32 V and pre-drive operating voltage up to 72 V, the MC33816AER2 is suitable for automotive (12 V), truck, and industrial (24 V) powertrain applications, including diesel and gasoline direct injection and transmission systems. It is available in a 64-LQFP exposed pad package suitable for surface mounting.
