The MC33164P-3G from On Semiconductor is a micropower undervoltage sensing circuit designed for use as a reset controller in portable microprocessor-based systems. It provides an economical solution for low voltage detection with a single external resistor.
Key features include a temperature-compensated bandgap reference, a comparator with precise thresholds and built-in hysteresis to prevent erratic reset operation, and an open collector reset output capable of sinking in excess of 6.0 mA. The device guarantees reset operation down to 1.0 V input with extremely low standby current, as low as 9.0 µA.
This supervisor IC is suitable for monitoring 3.0 V or 5.0 V MPU/logic power supplies in appliance, automotive, consumer, and industrial equipment. It operates over a temperature range of -40°C to 125°C.
The MC33164P-3G is available in a TO-92 (TO-226) package, suitable for through-hole mounting.
