The ON Semiconductor MC33161PG is a versatile multi-voltage supervisor IC designed for a wide range of voltage sensing applications. It offers economical solutions for both positive and negative voltage detection.
The device features two comparator channels, each with hysteresis, and a unique Mode Select Input for channel programming. It includes a pinned-out 2.54 V reference with current limit protection and two open collector outputs capable of sinking in excess of 10 mA. Each comparator channel can be configured as either inverting or non-inverting, enabling over, under, and window detection of positive and negative voltages.
The MC33161PG is fully functional at 2.0 V for positive voltage sensing and 4.0 V for negative voltage sensing. It operates within a temperature range of -40°C to 105°C (TA). The supervisor is packaged in an 8-DIP (0.300", 7.62mm) through-hole package, making it suitable for various circuit board designs.
Applications for this device include direct monitoring of positive and negative voltages used in appliance, automotive, consumer, and industrial equipment.
