The MC1488DR2G from ON Semiconductor is a monolithic quad line driver designed to interface data terminal equipment with data communications equipment in conformance with EIA Standard No. EIA-232D. This device features a current-limited output of ±10 mA typical and a power-off source impedance of 300 Ω minimum.
With a flexible operating supply range of ±15V, the MC1488DR2G is compatible with DTL and TTL logic families. It operates within an ambient temperature range of 0°C to 75°C. The driver is housed in a 14-SOIC surface mount package, measuring 0.154" width.
This component is suitable for applications requiring RS-232 communication interfaces. Its design allows for simple slew rate control with an external capacitor, providing flexibility in system design. Pb-Free packages are also available.
