The Osram MC14532BDG is an 8-Bit Priority Encoder constructed with complementary MOS (CMOS) enhancement mode devices. Its primary function is to provide a binary address for the active input with the highest priority. It features eight data inputs (D0 through D7) and an enable input (Ein), with five outputs including three address outputs (Q0 through Q2), one group select (GS), and one enable output (Eout).

 

This device operates within a supply voltage range of 3.0 Vdc to 18 Vdc and can drive two low-power TTL loads or one low-power Schottky TTL load. The maximum power dissipation is 500 mW. It is designed for a wide ambient temperature range from -55 °C to 125 °C and a storage temperature range of -65 °C to 150 °C.

 

The MC14532BDG is available in a Pb-free SOIC-16 package and is RoHS compliant. It includes diode protection on all inputs. Precautions should be taken to avoid applying voltages higher than the maximum rated voltages to this high-impedance circuit.
