The MC14513BCPG is a BCD-to-seven segment latch/decoder/driver integrated circuit manufactured by On Semiconductor. Constructed with complementary MOS (CMOS) enhancement mode devices and NPN bipolar output drivers, it provides the functions of a 4-bit storage latch and an 8421 BCD-to-seven segment decoder with output drive capability.
This device supports a supply voltage range of 3.0 V to 18 V and operates across a wide temperature range of -55°C to 125°C. It offers high-current sourcing outputs up to 25 mA and a low logic circuit power dissipation. The MC14513BCPG includes features such as latch storage of binary input, blanking input, lamp test provision, and readout blanking on illegal input combinations. It also supports lamp intensity modulation and time-share (multiplexing) capability.
The MC14513BCPG is available in a 18-PDIP through-hole package, making it suitable for various instrument display driver applications, including counters, DVMs, computer/calculator displays, and cockpit displays. Its design allows for direct or indirect use with seven-segment light emitting diodes (LED), incandescent, fluorescent, gas discharge, or liquid crystal readouts.
