The MC14042B is a Quad Transparent Latch constructed with MOS P-channel and N-channel enhancement mode devices. Each latch has a separate data input, but all four latches share a common clock. The clock polarity can be reversed using a polarity input, allowing data transfer during either the high or low clock level.
Key electrical specifications include a supply voltage range of 3.0 Vdc to 18 Vdc, a propagation delay of 60 ns, and output current capabilities of 8.8 mA high and 8.8 mA low. The device is designed to drive two low-power TTL loads or one low-power Schottky TTL load over the rated temperature range of -55°C to 125°C.
This latch is available in a 16-PDIP through-hole package. It features buffered data inputs and double diode input protection. The MC14042B is suitable for applications requiring data storage and transfer controlled by a common clock signal with selectable polarity.
Environmental compliance includes RoHS3 status. The device is designed for reliable operation within its specified temperature and voltage limits.
