The MC14042B is a Quad Transparent Latch constructed with MOS P-channel and N-channel enhancement mode devices. Each latch has a separate data input, but all four latches share a common clock. The clock polarity can be reversed using the polarity input. Information present at the data input is transferred to outputs Q and Q during the clock level determined by the polarity input.

 

This latch features buffered data inputs, a common clock, and clock polarity control. It provides Q and Q outputs and includes double diode input protection. The device operates over a supply voltage range of 3.0 Vdc to 18 Vdc and has a typical delay time of 60ns.

 

The MC14042B is designed to drive two low-power TTL loads or one low-power Schottky TTL load over the rated temperature range. It is specified for an ambient temperature range of -55°C to 125°C.
