The MC14018BDR2G from On Semiconductor is a presettable divide-by-N counter designed for digital logic applications. It features five Johnson counter stages that are asynchronously presettable and resettable. The counters are synchronous and increment on the positive-going edge of the clock signal.
This device supports a wide operating voltage range from 3V to 18V and operates across an ambient temperature range of -55°C to 125°C. It includes a Schmitt trigger on the clock input for improved noise immunity. The MC14018BDR2G is capable of driving two low-power TTL loads or one low-power Schottky TTL load.
Division by numbers from 2 to 10 can be achieved by connecting appropriate Q outputs to the data input. Anti-lock gating is incorporated to ensure proper counting sequences. The counter is available in a 16-SOIC package, suitable for surface mounting.
This component is pin-for-pin compatible with the CD4018B. It is Pb-free and RoHS compliant, making it suitable for various electronic designs requiring reliable counting and division functions.
