The MC14018BCPG from ON Semiconductor is a presettable divide-by-N counter. It features five Johnson counter stages that are asynchronously presettable and resettable. The counters are synchronous and increment on the positive-going edge of the clock.
This device operates with a DC supply voltage range from 3V to 18V. It has an operating temperature range of -55°C to 125°C. The counter includes a Schmitt trigger on the clock input for improved noise immunity and is capable of driving two low-power TTL loads or one low-power Schottky TTL load.
The MC14018BCPG is available in a 16-PDIP package and is designed for through-hole mounting. Division by any number from 2 to 10 can be accomplished by connecting appropriate Q outputs to the data input. Anti-lock gating is included to assure a proper counting sequence.
