The MC14018B is a presettable divide-by-N counter from ON Semiconductor, designed for flexible frequency division applications. It features five Johnson counter stages that are asynchronously presettable and resettable, with synchronous operation incrementing on the positive-going edge of the clock signal.
This counter supports a wide operating voltage range of 3V to 18V and can achieve a count rate of up to 8 MHz. The operating temperature range is from -55°C to +125°C, making it suitable for various environmental conditions. The device is designed for through-hole mounting and comes in a 16-PDIP package.
Division by any number from 2 to 10 can be accomplished by connecting appropriate Q outputs to the data input. Anti-lock gating is included to ensure proper counting sequences. The MC14018B is a pin-for-pin replacement for the CD4018B and is RoHS3 compliant.
