The MC14017BDG from ON Semiconductor is a five-stage Johnson decade counter with a built-in code converter. This device is suitable for frequency division and decimal decode display applications. It operates with a supply voltage range of 3.0 Vdc to 18 Vdc and can handle a maximum count rate of 16 MHz.
The counter features a positive edge-triggered clock input and asynchronous reset. Its outputs are designed to be spike-free, with ten decoded outputs that go high at their appropriate decimal time period. The device is capable of driving two low-power TTL loads or one low-power Schottky TTL load.
Packaged in a 16-SOIC surface mount package, the MC14017BDG has an operating temperature range of -55°C to 125°C. It offers pin-for-pin compatibility with the CD4017B and includes triple diode protection on all inputs. This device is Pb-free and RoHS compliant.
