The Motorola MC10231L is a high-speed dual Type D master-slave flip-flop integrated circuit. This component is housed in a 16-pin DIL ceramic package, often referred to as mil spec.
This flip-flop IC offers asynchronous Set (S) and Reset (R) functions that override Clock (CC) and Clock Enable (CE) inputs. Each flip-flop can be clocked independently by holding the common clock low and utilizing the enable inputs. Alternatively, when the common clock is used, the Clock Enable inputs control its function. The output states change on the positive transition of the clock. Due to its master-slave construction, changes at the data (D) input do not affect the output information at any other time.
These parts are date coded 9812 and are described as being in 'as new' condition, expected to function to their full original specification. Note that these are no longer available from Motorola. An equivalent non-ceramic part datasheet is available via a provided link.
