The MBRS540T3G from ON Semiconductor is a Schottky Barrier Power Rectifier employing metal-to-silicon Schottky barrier principle with epitaxial construction, oxide passivation, and metal overlay contact. It is ideally suited for low voltage, high frequency rectification, freewheeling diodes, and polarity protection in surface mount applications where compact size and weight are critical.
Key electrical specifications include a maximum DC blocking voltage of 40V, average rectified forward current of 5A at TC = 105°C, and a low forward voltage drop of 500 mV at 5A. The device can handle non-repetitive surge currents up to 190A and has an ESD rating of >8000V (HBM) and >400V (MM). The voltage rate of change (dv/dt) is rated at 10000 V/µs. The junction temperature range is -65°C to 150°C.
The device is packaged in a DO-214AB (SMC) surface mount package with J-bend leads, weighing 217 mg. It is supplied in tape and reel with a standard quantity of 2500 pieces per reel. The package is Pb-free, Halogen Free/BFR Free, and RoHS compliant. Moisture sensitivity level is MSL 1 (unlimited).
