The MBRD340 is a 40V, 3A Schottky rectifier diode manufactured by SMC Diode Solutions. It offers a low forward voltage drop of typically 0.55V at 3A and 25°C, with a maximum of 0.60V. At elevated temperatures (125°C), the typical forward voltage drops to 0.48V. The device is designed for high-frequency operation and features a guard ring for enhanced ruggedness and long-term reliability.
The diode has a peak repetitive reverse voltage of 40V and an average rectified forward current of 3A. It can handle non-repetitive peak surge currents up to 75A (8.3ms half sine pulse). Reverse leakage current is typically 0.01mA at 25°C and 2mA at 125°C. Junction capacitance is typically 130pF at 5V reverse bias.
The MBRD340 is packaged in a surface mount DPAK (TO-252-3) case, which is suitable for automated assembly. It operates over a junction temperature range of -55°C to 150°C and has a thermal resistance junction-to-case of 6°C/W. The device is Pb-Free and RoHS compliant (unverified). Typical applications include switching power supplies, free-wheeling diodes, reverse battery protection, and DC-DC converters.
