The MBR830MFST1G is a Schottky power rectifier from On Semiconductor, designed for low power loss and high efficiency in switch-mode applications. It features a 30V peak repetitive reverse voltage and an 8A average forward current at a case temperature of 143°C. The forward voltage is typically 0.50V at 8A and 25°C, with a maximum of 0.70V, dropping to 0.44V typ at 125°C. The device can handle a peak repetitive forward current of 16A and a non-repetitive surge current of 150A. It also offers an unclamped inductive switching energy rating of 100mJ and ESD protection of 3B (HBM) and M4 (MM).
Operating junction temperature ranges from -40°C to 150°C, with storage from -65°C to 150°C. The junction-to-case thermal resistance is 2.0°C/W. The device is housed in an 8-PowerTDFN (5 leads) surface mount package with a 5-DFN (5x6) (8-SOFL) supplier device package. The lead finish is 100% matte tin, and the case is molded epoxy. The device meets MSL 1 requirements and is Pb-Free and Halide-Free. The NRVB prefix version is available for automotive applications requiring AEC-Q101 qualification.
The Schottky technology provides fast switching with low forward voltage, making it suitable for high-frequency rectification, freewheeling diodes, and output rectification in DC-DC converters. The package design allows inspection and probing after board mounting.
