The MBR2045MFST1G is a Schottky barrier rectifier from On Semiconductor designed for switch mode power supply applications. It features a maximum repetitive reverse voltage of 45V and an average forward current of 20A at a case temperature of 130°C. The forward voltage drop is typically 610 mV at 30A, enabling high efficiency. The device offers a non-repetitive peak surge current rating of 400A and an unclamped inductive switching energy of 150 mJ, making it robust for inductive load switching.
Key features include low power loss, guardring for stress protection, and a wettable flanks option for improved solder joint inspection. The device is housed in an 8-PowerTDFN package with 5 flat leads (SO-8FL, case 488AA), suitable for surface mount assembly. It is Pb-Free, halogen free/BFR free, and RoHS compliant, with MSL 1 moisture sensitivity.
This rectifier is suitable for output rectification in compact portable consumer electronics and as a freewheeling diode with inductive loads. Note that the datasheet indicates these devices are discontinued and not recommended for new designs. Automotive-qualified alternatives are available under the NRVB prefix (e.g., NRVB2045MFST1G).
