The MBR1240MFST1G is a Schottky barrier rectifier diode from On Semiconductor's SWITCHMODE power rectifier family. It is designed for low power loss and high efficiency rectification in power supply and DC-DC converter applications. The device is rated for a maximum reverse voltage of 40V and can handle an average rectified forward current of 12A with a peak repetitive forward current of 20A.
Key electrical characteristics include a low forward voltage drop of 680mV maximum at 12A, enabling efficient operation. The diode offers fast recovery with a reverse recovery time of 500ns or less, making it suitable for high-frequency switching circuits. It also features a high surge current capability of 150A non-repetitive peak and an unclamped inductive switching energy rating of 150mJ. The device is protected against electrostatic discharge with ESD ratings of 3B (HBM) and M4 (MM).
The MBR1240MFST1G is housed in an 8-PowerTDFN, 5-lead surface mount package (5-DFN 5x6) with a lead finish of 100% matte tin. The package is designed to allow inspection and probing after board mounting. The operating junction temperature range is -55°C to 150°C, and the device is RoHS3 compliant and meets MSL 1 requirements.
This part is discontinued and not recommended for new designs. For automotive applications, the NRVB1240MFS variant is available with AEC-Q101 qualification.
