The MAX9860ETG+T is a low-power, voiceband, mono audio codec designed by Analog Devices / Maxim Integrated for applications such as wireless voice headsets and other mono voice audio devices. It provides a complete audio solution with an on-chip bridge-tied load mono headphone amplifier capable of outputting 30mW into a 32Ω earpiece.
This codec operates from a single 1.8V power supply, making it suitable for battery-powered applications. It supports common system clock frequencies from 10MHz to 60MHz and sample rates from 8kHz to 48kHz. The device features dual low-noise microphone inputs with user-programmable preamplifiers and gain amplifiers, along with automatic gain control and a noise gate.
The MAX9860ETG+T includes a 5th order GSM-compliant digital highpass filter and a digital side tone mixer for loopback functionality. Data transfer occurs over a flexible I²S-compatible interface that also supports TDM mode. Control functions, including mode settings, volume control, and shutdown, are managed via a 2-wire, I²C-compatible interface.
Packaged in a low-profile 4mm x 4mm, 24-pin thin QFN (exposed pad), the MAX9860ETG+T is specified for operation over the -40°C to +85°C extended temperature range. It is available in a 24-WFQFN exposed pad package, suitable for surface mount applications.
