MAX98090AEWJ+

The MAX98090AEWJ+ is a high-performance, ultra-low power audio codec designed for portable applications. It offers a flexible input scheme with multiple analog and digital microphone inputs, supporting differential or single-ended line inputs. The device operates with master clock frequencies from 256 x fS to 60MHz and supports digital audio interfaces like I2S, LJ, RJ, and TDM with sample rates from 8kHz to 96kHz.

Key features include FlexSound® technology DSP for advanced audio processing, including biquad filters, parametric equalizers, and dynamic range control. The integrated stereo Class D speaker amplifier can drive 4Ω and 8Ω loads, providing up to 3.2W/channel. A DirectDrive® stereo Class H headphone amplifier offers ground-referenced output, eliminating the need for large DC-blocking capacitors. The device also includes a differential receiver amplifier that can be reconfigured as a stereo single-ended line output.

With a 102dB dynamic range for the stereo DAC to headphone output and a 99dB dynamic range for the stereo ADC, the MAX98090AEWJ+ ensures high-quality audio performance. It consumes only 3.6mW during stereo playback and 4.2mW during stereo record. The codec is available in a compact 49-bump WLP package, making it suitable for space-constrained designs. An I2C control interface with two address options simplifies integration.
