MAX96717FGTJ/VY+

The MAX96717FGTJ/VY+ is a high-performance GMSL serializer designed by Analog Devices Inc./Maxim Integrated. This automotive-grade component receives video on a MIPI CSI-2 interface and outputs it on a GMSL2 serial link transceiver, supporting bidirectional control channel data over the same link. It operates at a fixed rate of 3Gbps in the forward direction and 187.5Mbps in the reverse direction.

Key features include a four-lane D-PHY MIPI CSI-2 v1.3 input port with 16 virtual channels and advanced MIPI D-PHY v1.2 receivers rated at 2.5Gbps. The device offers full-duplex capability over a single wire and includes CSI-2 ECC, checksum local, remote error detection, and flagging for data integrity. It is ASIL-B compliant, with end-to-end data integrity through CRC in tunneling mode and R-S FEC for protection of forward video and control-channel data.

The MAX96717FGTJ/VY+ is programmed through a local I2C/UART interface or across the link from a matching deserializer. It includes two I2C/UART pass-through channels, flexible GPIO, SPI tunnel, a built-in ADC, temperature sensor, and diagnostics for functional safety. Operation is specified over the automotive temperature range of -40°C to +105°C and it is AEC-Q100 Grade 2 qualified.

This serializer is suitable for applications such as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), LiDAR Systems, RADAR Systems, 4Mp 40fps Forward-Vision Camera (FVC) Systems, Surround View Systems (SVS), Driver Monitor Systems (DMS), Rear-View Camera (RVC), and systems with multiple synchronized cameras. It is supplied in a compact 5mm x 5mm TQFN side-wettable package with 0.5mm pitch.
