The MAX942CSA is a dual high-speed comparator designed for systems powered by 3V or 5V supplies. It combines high speed with low power consumption and features rail-to-rail inputs. The device boasts a propagation delay of 80ns while consuming only 350μA of supply current per comparator.
Its input common-mode range extends beyond both power-supply rails, and the outputs pull to within 0.4V of either supply rail without external pullup circuitry. This makes the MAX942CSA ideal for interfacing with both CMOS and TTL logic. All input and output pins can tolerate a continuous short-circuit fault condition to either rail. Internal hysteresis ensures clean output switching, even with slow-moving input signals.
The MAX942CSA is available in an 8-pin SO package and is suitable for applications such as 3V/5V systems, battery-powered systems, threshold detectors/discriminators, line receivers, zero-crossing detectors, and sampling circuits.
