MAX917ESA Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The MAX917ESA is a nanopower comparator designed for ultra-low-power systems and battery-powered applications. It operates down to +1.8V and features Beyond-the-Rails™ inputs, extending the input voltage range 200mV beyond the supply rails.

This comparator includes an on-board 1.245V ±1.5% reference and draws only 750nA of supply current. The MAX917ESA has a push-pull output stage capable of sinking and sourcing current with rail-to-rail output swing and loads up to 8mA. Its unique output stage design minimizes supply current surges and glitches during switching, contributing to overall power efficiency.

The MAX917ESA is housed in a space-saving 8-SOIC package, making it suitable for compact designs. Its features make it ideal for applications such as 2-cell battery monitoring and management, mobile communications, notebooks, PDAs, and threshold detection.

Key electrical characteristics include a propagation delay of 95µs, hysteresis of 4mV, and a typical PSRR of 80dB. The operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C.
