The MAX8660ETL+T is a high-efficiency Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC) designed by Analog Devices Inc. (formerly Maxim Integrated) for mobile applications. This PMIC powers application processors in smart cellular phones, PDAs, and other portable devices. It features four synchronous step-down DC-DC converters and four LDO regulators, providing flexible power solutions.
The device operates with a 2MHz PWM switching frequency, enabling the use of small external components. It offers dynamic voltage management and automatically switches to high-efficiency, light-load operation to conserve battery life, with a low deep-sleep current of 20µA. The MAX8660ETL+T includes overvoltage protection up to 7.5V and shutdown above 6.3V. It is optimized for processors like Marvell's PXA300 and Armada 100 families.
This PMIC is available in a 40-pin Thin QFN package with dimensions of 5mm x 5mm x 0.8mm and is designed for surface mounting. It supports various programmable output voltages for VCC_IO, VCC_MEM, VCC_APPS, and VCC_SRAM, with default settings for V3 and V4.
The MAX8660ETL+T is suitable for applications such as PDAs, Palmtops, Wireless Handhelds, Smart Cell Phones, Personal Media Players, Portable GPS Navigation, and Digital Cameras.
The input voltage is protected to 7.5V.
It provides programmable outputs: VCC_IO (3.3V, 3.0V, 2.85V), VCC_MEM (3.3V, 2.5V, 1.8V), VCC_APPS and VCC_SRAM (I2C programmable 0.725V to 1.8V), and V3/V4 default to 1.4V.
The switching frequency is 2MHz.
The operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C.
It comes in a 40-VFQFN exposed pad package measuring 5mm x 5mm x 0.8mm.
The deep sleep current is 20µA.
