Key features include up to 95% efficiency, making it suitable for server and point-of-load applications. It also boasts a low 5µA shutdown current, beneficial for battery-powered devices like notebooks. The device supports automatic generation of 1/2 VREFIN for VTT and VTTR voltages, maintaining them within 1% of 1/2 VREFIN. Lossless current monitoring and an adjustable foldback current limit are included for overload and short-circuit protection. The MAX8553EEE+T comes in a space-saving 16-pin QSOP package and is designed for surface mount applications.

 

Applications include wide-input power supplies, servers, storage, ASIC and CPU core voltages, notebook and LCD-PC power supplies, and DDR I/II memory power supplies.
