MAX8550ETI+TG104

The MAX8550ETI+TG104 by Analog Devices / Maxim Integrated is an integrated power supply solution specifically designed for DDR memory applications in desktops, notebooks, and graphic cards. It features a synchronous-buck PWM controller capable of generating output voltages down to 0.7V from a 2V to 28V input, with output currents up to 15A. This controller utilizes Maxim's proprietary Quick-PWM architecture, offering a 100ns response to load transients and programmable switching frequencies up to 600kHz.

In addition to the buck controller, the MAX8550ETI+TG104 includes a sourcing and sinking LDO linear regulator to generate VTT, capable of handling up to 1.5A continuous or 3A peak current. A 10mA reference output buffer is also integrated for VTTR generation. Both the LDO and reference buffer outputs can track the REFIN voltage, with VTT and VTTR tracking within 1% of VREFIN / 2.

The device is available in a compact 5mm x 5mm, 28-pin thin QFN package, making it suitable for space-constrained designs. It offers features like programmable current limits with foldback, overvoltage/undervoltage protection, and independent shutdown capabilities for flexible power management.

Applications include DDR I and DDR II memory power supplies for desktop computers, notebooks, graphic cards, game consoles, RAID systems, and networking equipment.
