The MAX821LUS+T is a microprocessor supervisory circuit designed by Analog Devices to monitor power supplies in µP and digital systems. It provides a reliable and low-cost solution by eliminating the need for external components. This device asserts a reset signal when the VCC supply voltage falls below a preset threshold and maintains the reset for a pin-selected timeout delay after VCC rises above the threshold.
Key features include pin-selectable power-on reset delay options of 1ms (max), 20ms (min), or 100ms (min). It precisely monitors +3V to +5V power supply voltages and operates with a low supply current of 2.5µA. The MAX821LUS+T is guaranteed to operate over temperature from -40°C to +125°C and ensures the RESET output is valid down to 1V for the MAX821 variant. It offers power-supply transient immunity and requires no external components.
This supervisory circuit comes in a compact 4-pin SOT-143 package, suitable for surface mounting. Its applications include critical µP and µC power monitoring, portable and battery-powered equipment, bar-code scanners, computers, and controllers.
