MAX811LEUS-T Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The MAX811LEUS-T is a low-power microprocessor supervisory circuit from Maxim Integrated, designed to monitor power supplies in microprocessor and digital systems. It provides excellent circuit reliability and low cost by eliminating external components and adjustments for 5V or 3V powered circuits. The device asserts a reset signal when the VCC supply voltage falls below a preset threshold, maintaining it for at least 140ms after VCC rises above the threshold.

Key features include precision monitoring of 3V, 3.3V, and 5V power-supply voltages, a minimum power-on reset pulse width of 140ms, and immunity to power-supply transients. The MAX811 has an active-low RESET output, guaranteed to be valid down to 1V VCC. It operates over a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and consumes a low supply current of 6μA.

This supervisory circuit is ideal for critical μP and μC power monitoring in portable and battery-powered equipment. It comes in a compact 4-pin SOT-143 package, saving board space. The MAX811/MAX812 series also provides a debounced manual reset input, increasing system robustness.

Available reset threshold voltages include 4.63V, 4.38V, 3.08V, 2.93V, and 2.63V, allowing for flexible application design. The reset comparator is designed to ignore fast transients on VCC.
