MAX7360ETL+

The MAX7360ETL+ is an I2C-interfaced peripheral designed by Analog Devices for microprocessors to manage up to 64 key switches. It includes eight LED drivers/GPIOs with constant-current, PWM intensity control, and rotary switch control options. The key-switch drivers support metallic or resistive switches with on-resistances up to 5kΩ and monitor inputs statically for low-EMI operation.

This device features autosleep and autowake modes to minimize power consumption, entering a low-power state of 1µA typ. The key controller debounces and maintains a FIFO of keypress and release events. An interrupt output can alert keypresses as they occur or at a maximum rate. The eight open-drain I/O ports can drive LEDs with a maximum constant-current of 20mA, individually adjustable via 256-step PWM control.

The MAX7360ETL+ is available in a 40-pin (5mm x 5mm) thin QFN package with an exposed pad. It operates over an extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, making it suitable for portable consumer electronics, PDAs, and instrumentation.

Key features include integrated ESD protection, +14V tolerant I/O ports, rotary switch capability, and a 400kbps, +5.5V tolerant 2-wire serial interface with selectable bus timeout. It supports up to 64 keys and offers user-configurable key debounce from 9ms to 40ms.
