The MAX7301AAI from Analog Devices is a compact, serial-interfaced I/O expander providing up to 28 ports for microprocessors. Each port can be individually configured as a logic input or a push-pull logic output, capable of sinking 10mA and sourcing 4.5mA. It also supports Schmitt logic input with an optional internal pullup.
This I/O expander operates over a voltage range of 2.5V to 5.5V and features a high-speed, 26MHz SPI-compatible serial interface. Seven ports include configurable transition detection logic, which can generate an interrupt upon a change in port logic level.
